Snapdragon is a well-cared-for 1986 Tashiba 31 that combines classic Robert Perry design with the quality construction Ta Shing is known for. Hull #9 of just 25 built, she has had only two previous owners and has spent her life in the fresh waters of Lake Superior.
Powered by a Yanmar 3GM30F diesel with approximately 1,800 hours, Snapdragon has benefited from thoughtful updates and continued maintenance over the years. Recent improvements include a new ignition switch in 2025, new alternator, upgraded electrical components, LED lighting throughout, and updated mast wiring and navigation lights.
At the helm, a Raymarine e97 multifunction display, Evolution autopilot, and Quantum radar provide modern navigation while maintaining the traditional character of this capable cruising sailboat.
Sail inventory includes Main and 115% Yankee, staysail, and a storm sail. Most running rigging has been replaced in the last three seasons.
Her ground tackle is equally well equipped, with both CQR and Fortress anchors, substantial chain and rode, and a Simpson Lawrence manual windlass. The bowsprit was professionally rebuilt in 2022, running rigging has seen recent updates, and the forestay has been replaced as part of the switch to a hank-on Yankee.
The cabin features a diesel-fired heater.
